RUNTOP AU-800 – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Share
1. Is AU-800 a bank-grade machine?
Yes.
AU-800 is a bank-grade money counter and authenticator, using the same recognition and detection technologies as professional cash-handling equipment.
2. Can AU-800 count mixed denominations together?
Yes.
You can load mixed Australian dollar notes into the hopper, and AU-800 will automatically:
- Recognise each denomination
- Display total value
- Show denomination breakdown
No pre-sorting is required.
3. Does AU-800 show total value or just note quantity?
It shows both:
- Total number of notes
- Total monetary value (AUD)
- Breakdown by denomination
4. Can AU-800 detect counterfeit notes?
Yes.
AU-800 uses multi-layer bank-grade detection, including:
- UVMG
- IR
- Dual CIS image recognition
Suspicious notes will be flagged during counting.
5. Can AU-800 recognise face, orientation, and fitness?
Yes.
AU-800 can recognise:
- Face up / face down notes
- Note orientation
- Fit vs unfit note condition
⚠️ Important: AU-800 recognises these features but does not automatically separate notes into different outputs.
6. What is the difference between AU-800 and AU-900?
The only difference is Auto Sorting.
| Feature | AU-800 | AU-900 |
|---|---|---|
| Bank-grade recognition | ✅ | ✅ |
| Mixed denomination counting | ✅ | ✅ |
| Counterfeit detection | ✅ | ✅ |
| Face / orientation / fitness recognition | ✅ | ✅ |
| Automatic physical sorting | ❌ | ✅ |
7. What does “Auto Sorting” mean?
Auto Sorting means the machine automatically separates notes into different groups (e.g. fit / unfit) without manual handling.
This feature is mainly required for:
- Bank cash rooms
- Cash-in-transit (CIT) companies
- High-volume cash centres
Most retail and business users do not need auto sorting.
8. Is AU-800 suitable for old and new Australian notes?
Yes.
AU-800 fully supports both old and new Australian polymer banknotes.
9. Do I need to separate notes before counting?
No.
AU-800 supports mixed-denomination counting, so you can count all AUD notes together.
10. Who should choose AU-800 instead of AU-900?
Choose AU-800 if you:
- Want full bank-grade accuracy and detection
- Do not need automatic physical sorting
- Want better value for money
Choose AU-900 only if you require automatic sorting workflows.
11. Is AU-800 difficult to use?
No.
AU-800 is designed for simple daily operation, with:
- Clear display
- Straightforward modes
- Minimal training required
12. What happens if a suspicious note is detected?
The machine will:
- Alert during counting
- Pause or mark the note
- Allow you to manually inspect the banknote
Detection alerts do not automatically confirm a note is fake - they indicate a potential issue for review.
13. Is AU-800 suitable for my business?
AU-800 is ideal for:
✔ Retail stores
✔ Cafes & restaurants
✔ Petrol stations
✔ Wholesalers
✔ Offices handling cash daily
If you’re unsure, AU-800 is usually the best balance of capability and value.
