AU-800 Troubleshooting Guide - E4 Half Note Errors
Share
The E4 error code on your RUNTOP AU-800 money counter stands for "Half Note." This is a vital security feature designed to protect you. It triggers when the machine detects a banknote that is ripped, significantly damaged, or folded in a way that its full length cannot be verified.
How to Handle E4 Errors:
When the machine stops and displays E4, the damaged note will be the last one in the stacker. Remove it and inspect it. In Australia, the RBA has specific guidelines for "damaged" vs. "unfit" currency. If a note is missing a significant portion, your Runtop machine is doing its job by rejecting it!
To prevent accidental E4 errors, always ensure your banknotes are placed straight between the Banknote Guiders and that any folded corners are straightened before counting.
