AU-800 Troubleshooting Guide - E1 UV Fault on Your RUNTOP Money Counter

Running a business in Australia means dealing with high volumes of cash, and the E1 error code - signifying a UV Fault - can bring your operations to a halt. This error usually occurs when the machine’s Ultra-Violet sensors cannot properly verify the security features of a banknote.

Why is it happening?

  1. Dust Accumulation: This is the most common cause. Dust from Australian polymer notes can settle on the sensor.
  2. Suspicious Note: The machine may have detected a genuine counterfeit.
  3. Sensor Blockage: A small piece of paper or debris might be covering the UV lens.

The Solution:
First, remove the suspicious banknote and try counting the rest of the stack. If the E1 error persists, it’s time for a quick clean. Use the Nylon Brush provided in your RUNTOP box (see Manual Page 1) to gently sweep the internal sensor area. If the error remains, use the Soft Cleaning Cloth to wipe the UV sensor glass. Keeping your sensors clear ensures your business stays protected from counterfeit currency, then restart the machine.
